Combat Robots K-6th

Do you think your child can build the strongest and most agile robot? Can their robot win a head-to-head combat mission? Your child will discover basic strategies for building sturdy structures and then apply that knowledge to build a robot for friendly competition. They should be prepared to have tons of fun!

 

Chess K-6th

Learn chess with Magnus Academy (formerly Silver Knights), world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy!  We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state and national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games.  Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.

 

Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time.  This in-person club includes free online extras including weekly practice tournaments and an event with world champion Magnus Carlsen or Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all time. Soccer 3rd-6th

This program will consist of fun games using soccer skills which will lead up to playing small-sided soccer. As the days progress, games will involve more and more soccer skills, involving different moves, dribbling, ball control, passing, and shooting. Games will require individual 1 on 1 skills with some requiring team participation.

Shaolin Kung Fu Training K-5th

Shaolin Temple USA is dedicated to preserve and promote the profound cultural legacy of the Songshan Shaolin Temple. Our mission is to share the teachings of Shaolin Kung Fu. Our training, deeply rooted in the centuries-old practices of Shaolin Warrior monks, is designed to enhance students' physical health, spiritual well-being, self-defense skills, and overall flexibility. We believe that Shaolin Kung Fu is more than just martial arts; it is a holistic discipline that fosters balance between body and mind through disciplined practices.

 

Skills & Creativity with LEGO Bricks: Oceans K-2nd

What lies deep within the ocean?  Imagine the exotic plants, animals, and crazy terrain of the ocean floor.  What lives in your ocean?  Squid? Great Whites? Octopi? Whales? Maybe even a mermaid? Use your creativity and building skills to bring your underwater world to life.

 

Fun in Art w/ Mrs. Shapiro 2nd-6th

Students will be able to explore various art medium to paint, draw, cut and sculpt.  We will use our fine motor skills to cut papers to make collages, paint landscapes, draw animals and make a sculpture. Students are encouraged to add their own ideas into the artwork.  If you enjoy making art with your hands, enroll in the Art class and join the fun!


THURSDAYS

Broadway Bound 2nd-6th

In this class, young performers discover the world of musical theater! Each semester features a variety of scenes and songs from hit musicals, along with character creation and improv. Participants will enhance their singing, acting, and storytelling skills while exploring different characters and styles. Through collaboration and creativity, students will build confidence on stage and discover the magic of bringing stories to life. Parents are invited to join us for a mini-performance during the final class.

 

Winter: Space Explorers K-4th

During the STE(A)M Space Explorers session, our young astronauts will launch a rocket into space, learn about moon phases, make models of planets, constellations, solar eclipses, moon craters and more. We will learn about kinetic energy, gravity, force, trajectory, acceleration, velocity, hemispheres, force, shock, absorption, orbits and so much more. We will discover how these forces shape the world around us!

 

Glow Light Dance Party K-6th

Kids in Motion Glow Light Dance Party is an exciting one-of-a kind class that takes the great music and dance moves from our Zumba, Hip Hop, and other dance fitness classes, but we switch it up to include glow lights! This class will be set in a creative dance environment where the students will spend the class learning different choreographies to kid friendly songs. Children are provided with mini finger flashlights to create a glow dance party! In addition to a dance workout, they will also play games such as freeze dance, dancing 4 corners, limbo, center star, follow the leader, balloon games, limbo, and many more.
